A Little Bit About Amy...
I grew up in a Boston suburb where I lived in the same house for my first 18 years (could that have laid the foundation for me struggling with change?). However I’m grateful for the consistency that gave me throughout my childhood. I lived in Kansas City, MO for 2 years after college in Maine, but otherwise I’ve been living all around MA (Arlington, Waltham, Lowell, Brighton, Winchester and now the South Shore). I married into a family with 4 young kids who are now college age and beyond. My husband and I now have an 11 year old daughter and 2 dogs…a 6 year old anxious Springer Spaniel (Jasmine/ Jazzy) and a 3 year old Golden Retriever (Willow). We spend a lot of time in Vermont and Maine, but I’m a homebody for sure. I love to read, play piano, get outside for any kind of adventure and I will take every opportunity to see live music.
WHY DID YOU BECOME A THERAPIST?
I became a therapist after a few different career paths when I realized that the common thread of what meant the most to me was really connecting with other people and my desire to understand how our thoughts, feelings and behavior are the result of our life experiences and the work we have done to navigate our own path. I feel the most fulfilled when I can support others who are processing what life has thrown at them so that they grow into the best version of themselves, developing resilience and boundaries so that they can enjoy the life they have.
