DBT at Inspired

Real Tools. Real Change.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is at the core of everything we do. Unlike traditional talk therapy, DBT provides structured, evidence-based strategies (meaning it’s been tested and shown to work in real life) to help you manage emotions, build healthier relationships, and navigate life’s challenges with confidence. Whether you're struggling with overwhelming emotions, relationship difficulties, or major life transitions, we’re here to provide real, actionable tools for lasting change.

What Makes Our DBT Program Different?

Our DBT skills groups are not process groups. They're focused, practical, and designed to help you learn and apply new skills each week. With over 25 years of experience delivering DBT, we know what works—and we stay true to the structure that makes DBT so effective. That means less storytelling, more doing.

What to Expect in a Group

Each 60-minute group follows a consistent, skills-focused structure:

  • Mindfulness Practice: We begin with a grounding exercise to help everyone arrive in the moment.

  • Skills Review: Clients briefly reflect on how they applied DBT skills during the week. This isn’t therapy—it’s skill building.

  • New Skill Teaching: Most of the session is dedicated to learning and practicing a specific DBT skill from one of four modules: Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, or Interpersonal Effectiveness.

  • Wrap-Up & Homework: You’ll leave with a clear, concrete practice assignment to help you apply what you’ve learned in real life.
