A Little Bit About Stephanie...
I was born and raised on the South Shore of Massachusetts and, like a typical Pisces, I have always loved living near the water. Although I know New England is my home base, I have a huge passion for traveling and you can usually find me trying to book my next vacation. Not only do I love adventure but the opportunity to meet new people along the way. I appreciate hearing people’s stories and experiences. Getting to integrate that into a job has been the best decision I have ever made. I love a good self-care night, spending time with my loved ones and I have a weakness for reality tv that some may call unhealthy. Singing karaoke is a form of therapy for me. I appreciate sarcasm and conversations that involve what meal I’m eating next.
Why Did You Become a Therapist?
I give all the credit to my high school psychology teacher. She did such an amazing job bringing the subject to life in my eyes and setting me on the right path (I had wanted to be a marine biologist). While I was an undergrad, I was working toward a career in criminal justice with the belief that psychology and criminal justice could and should walk hand in hand. I even considered law school until a great friend of mine introduced me to a position working with adolescents in a mental health setting. As the pieces began to fall into place, I found it all made sense that I was in the field I love to do. Having the opportunity to have an impact, big or small, in a teen’s life, meant the world to me. Working to create a safe and supportive environment only furthered my passion and drive to learn more and I made the decision to pursue a career as a clinical social worker.
